So here's an honest review (please read to the end), dialogue is a bit hit & miss, sometimes it's even a little cringe in some scenes. Sorbo & Cuba are amazing in their roles. The message is strong, and movie does take some liberties from the actual events but not so much to bring you out of it.
The movie will leave you with strong feelings if you're a believer, if you're not then you'll still walk away with respect for the mens' conviction and resolve. I would.of given it higher as a Christian film, but the effects (green screen) and again some cringe dialogue knocks it down.
That being said, you can't believe the majority of the reviews on here. You'll see a 1 star review praising the movie as a 10/10 and saying it's the best film ever made next to Passion of the Christ. How can it be so good with a 1 star? Keep scrolling and you'll see all the fluff and nonsense.

First I have to say IGNORE THE HATERS!!! If you read the reviews so far they are about Gates himself NOT the series. People leaving reviews need to focus on why people read the reviews, and that's to find out if the series is any good or not. I can dislike a person with everything in me. But if they say "putting your hand in the fire will burn you" that doesn't mean they're wrong. I also wouldn't just instantly dismiss them either, as these 'hosts' pretty much are just the talking heads not the researchers, writer's, etc. Still with me? Alright, let's review the series now.
The series itself is thought provoking and at times pretty insightful. That being said, it's nothing special to write home about but isn't terrible either. Honestly, it's a series touching on issues in a way that tries to be as middle of the road as possible. I believe the approach is to try not to alienate any one "side" of things. That being said, this is where it tends to loose out, instead of going all in the topics the series holds a lot back in their attempts to not upset anyone and not be political. While that in and of itself is a good thing in this day in age, it causes the series to not go far enough on the issues it's discussing.
I'd say this is a good series to play in the background while doing something, and a better series to watch as you're settling in for the night. Engaging enough to keep you interested, but also not enough to overstimulate you or really draw your attention from other things.

First two episodes are incredibly underwhelming. Nothing like what you'd expect to watch based on the title or trailers. They try to set a tone like they're spilling dark secrets when in reality it's a weird combination of complaining and over reaction via hindsight.
Let's add context, now I'm not excusing things from the past that were perhaps 'out of line' by today's standards. However, we also cannot apply the current 2024 standards to everything in history. Otherwise shows like Gilligan's Island should never be shown again, with all the physical and mental abuse that takes place in each episode, the exploitation, and so on. If by now you're going "chill out" that's the exact same thing you'll say watching this show.
Former cast members complaining about wearing superhero leotards and how "it's gross", that's how most all superheroes were parodied back then. A kid had to wear a prosthetic nose for a skit and tries to say it was explicit because it looked like a set of B@lls & P3n!s. Or someone getting sneezed on, or 'goo' blasted on them was a facial from BangBros.
I grew up watching it, and nothing was 'inappropriate' about the majority of what they're stating so far in the 1st two episodes. That said, I agree Dan was predator and waste of a human being. That's what I thought going into this I was going to learn more about. Instead I get the aforementioned complaining and sexualization of jokes that were never seen nor meant to be seen as such.
And sure, admittingly there were a few episodes where things had double entendres. Nothing over the top, and certainly nothing that wasn't in the majority of cartoons from the 80s to 90s. Hell, the 60s & 70s were filled with them.
