I first read the books by Elena Ferrante last year, and I didn't know at the time that there already was a serie. I was fascinated with Ferrante's writing style, and I was constantly thinking how complicated must be to make a tv-show based on these four books.
To be completely honest, I don't remember the last time I felt so many emotions as I did while watching My Brilliant Friend. I cried many times, I laughed, I was shocked, I felt scared, I lived with those characters for a month, I felt Elena's and Lila's pain, their happy and sad times. I was just fascinated! Even this almost ruined me emotionally.
I'm a 30 year old guy, and I read lots of books, I've seen many series and movies based on books, but nothing before had such a deep affect on me as this series. Maybe I'm getting older and more mature?
Thank you Elena Ferrante, and all the amazing actors who did great part in this!
