Finally something of quality from Netflix! There is so much trash on this streaming service anymore.
This crime series had us coming back each night, we limited ourselves to 2 episodes a night until the last night when we finished the last 3 episodes. The relationships between the team members is at the core of the success of this drama. Carl and Akram work so well together. Akram is just the coolest guy! There is some deeply graphic violence at times. Bizarre psychological trauma that shows the worst in family dynamics. Absolutely insane characters. Lots of side stories to keep you guessing until the end. Can't wait to see if there's a Season 2!

There are so so many horrible movies and series that are crass, violent, with bizarre special effects, hyper sexual, & foul language out there.
This isn't one of those.
Loved the story with the focus on food, traditions and family. Showing how a son handles his grief by honoring the two most important women in his life his mother and his nonna.
The scenes when Joey was a little boy were so special. Loved them. I grew up in a neighborhood like those with amazing bakeries and people saying "say the Rosary"!
Vince Vaughn was really good and had a great cast. The nonna's were fun and spunky. They all had great chemistry together.
The food all looked amazing. The food stylist did a great job. Was craving good Italian after this film.
Love good food movies.
We don't really use Netflix much anymore but this was good!

Really really wanted to love this. My bff is French Canadian and I told her about this series after reading about it in the Wall Street Journal. Fun and crazy sounding caper. It does start off good. The actors were great. Remy was the best and his dad was great. Then it just seemed all disjointed.
I've never seen a series with so many obese people in it, is that a true representation of Quebec? Also the obligatory, small reference to lesbians, which is now required in everything that's produced, unreal!
I would have loved more French with subtitles.
The story just becomes unrealistic, stealing all of the syrup in broad daylight? And the ending...what? I guess there's another series in the works.
