Plot? What Plot?
Ballerina is an average movie with exciting action sequences but weighed down with an underwhelming story and tired tropes.
The first 20 minutes are a chore with the standard origin story you've seen before but once the action begins, it doesn't let up and 5 minutes don't past between fight scenes. It's clear to see where the reshoots come in as they appear copied and pasted in.
Ana De Armas is the saving grace of the movie and gives a great performance while Keanu has a fun cameo with just the right amount of screen time. It's a shame to say that Gabriel Byrne is wasted as the villian and doesn't do much with the time provided.
The world of John Wick is a brilliant concept and continues to enthrall. I just wish there was more here to expand the lore and put a bit of meat on it. A decent enough time though, just not as great as i expected.

Fear Street: Prom Queen is an enjoyable entry in the series based on the R. L. Stine books. It blends the mix of comedy and horror together well and is a nice throwback to 80s movies.
The movie takes the 1980s and provides a great soundtrack to it (which you would expect considering the decade) providing tracks like White Wedding & Gloria to name a few. All that was missing for me was the original Prom Night song from the 1980 movie.
India Fowler is great in the lead (resembling a young Sabrina Carpenter) and the support cast are well placed with turns from Suzanna Son, Lili Taylor & Katherine Waterston. It's also good to see Chris Klein on screen again for the first time in ages it seems.
The movie is fairly predictable stuff for the most part with the killer reveal being easy to latch onto early on with just a quick look at the cast list. The 90 minute runtime makes up for this though with kills coming double quick once prom gets underway.
Fear Street continues to be a decent horror series and hopefully they continue to produce them with the tease in the credits seemingly confirming they are.

Final Destination: Bloodlines is a great time. It does the smart thing and goes for a more comedic approach than earlier entries in the series.
Bloodlines contains possibly the best opening of the franchise and the first 20 minutes are a treat. The effects, while not amazing, do the job and are particularly gory even for this series.
The movie works well bringing a new twist on the Final Destination formula and the family are all likable enough in their own ways.
It would be remiss of me not to mention a standout in Richard Harmon. I spend a good portion of his time on screen trying to calculate if Tom Green could have fathered him as he is his dead ringer in this (amazingly both canadian as well). It was obvious they were going for a Tom Green type of character.
Tony Todd shows up for the last time as the mortician and it's a great emotional and poetic send off for him as well as giving his character an interesting backstory.
The movie has some nice little easter eggs for fans of the series with some call backs to previous entries as well as harking back to some of the premonitions.
The Final Destination franchise has always been interesting to me but never quite delivered a quality movie. This is perhaps the closest it has came to that by just being a good time and not getting bogged down in the lore.
