  • Better than the 2.7/10 rating would suggest

I was expecting a horror movie so I was surprised that the fish turned out friendly.

I am surprised at this films low rating. I didn't expect to see this rating for this movie so I thought I'd review it.

There were some big productions of under sea adventures going on around the time this was made.

So they've made a lower budget sea movie to align with public interest. There's nothing wrong with that.

The blonde in the lead as the scientist is pretty enough for this role and carries most of the film.

It takes itself very seriously so they didn't intend it to be mistakenly funny, but some of the things that happen do make you laugh.

I found the movie compelling to watch. It doesn't get boring and it keeps you watching till the end.

At the start everyone seems to be in the same clothes and the shots look the same, so you can't tell who is talking to who or where they are.

The commander character is ridiculous. There's a whole bunch of laughs right there.

It's not a bad movie, but it's not the best either. The story is original however it borrows from similar sea shanties of the era.

Some people like shark movies. You could say Jaws started it all. That book set in motion 40 years of horrible shark movies. However, if you like shark movies you'll watch them all.

It's like that with this movie. Since there aren't that many under sea adventure movies as there are shark movies, it makes sense to watch this one if you like such movies.

I think it's a good film for providing that opportunity.

Thanks for reading my meandering thoughts.

  • Not a lake slasher like advertised.

  • Kind of dragged

It's basically a Halloween slasher film except they replaced Halloween with "Mummering". Yep it's weird and unnecessary, and it really doesn't move the plot forward in any way. It's just there for some reason.

I didn't like the casting choice for the lead female. Would it kill someone to have a hot blonde in the role?

We don't see any nudity at all. Come on it's supposed to be a slasher. There should be some nudity for no good reason. But no! Not in this case.

I couldn't really tell you what this was about. I can say what happened, but did any of it make any sense? No.
