This is just a mess. Bad dialogue, bad pace, bad action, bad acting. Dolph Lundgren is just phoning it in. Brandon Lee isn't much better, delivering some of the cheesiest lines ever spoken. The plot is entirely predictable. It is another Lethal Weapon knockoff. Cary Hiroyuki Tanaka had to have been embarasssed to star in this. He deserves so much better. It starts off with Dolph shutting down an illegal fight, then breaks up an extortion racket. Then he gets introduced to his partner. Some of the scenes with the gang are very corny and hokey. There are tons of cultural slights toward the Asian community.
This is one of my favorite episodes. If nothing else than for seeing Jeffrey Dean Morgan have trouble moving in his reptilian suit! I can't unwatch it now! Anyways. T'pol does a good job acting in this. Her disgust at Loomis is gold. I like the part where he spills his hamburger on her leg and she repels him. I like the part where Scott Bakula says, " No, no combo." Then Loomis goes to pick up the old guy and he says, "Is this gonna take long? I don't wanna miss Conan." So many memorable lines. T'pol asks, "Does the fiesta salad contain animal products?" So good. Then you have a cameo by Matt Winston which is always welcome.
