This is an unnecessary, annoying and stupid remake of a cute movie. The kids are not cute, the little girl's voice is obnoxious and no one is remotely interesting.
I usually love musicals, so I'm really disappointed.
I saved it on our watchlist because my husband loves the original Snow Day. I thought he'd really enjoy this. Unfortunately, he only could stand 15 minutes of this.
I do not recommend this. Maybe little kids will like it. Maybe.
I'll rewarch the classic Snow Day with Chevy Chase, Jean Smart, John Schneider, Chris Elliott, Mark Webber and Josh Peck. And I'll try to forget that I attempted this horrible mess.

I was excited to see this movie, but I am very disappointed. Nicole Kidman was badly miscast as Lucille Ball/Lucy Ricardo. Kidman is a very good actor and I usually like her performances, but her botoxed-to-the-max face was unable to make the wonderful, familiar and famous expressions that our beloved Lucy did. Another thing that drives me nuts as a trivia buff is that when a movie is made about a famous person and the facts of certain events are widely available, to have events such as when Desi and Lucy met written wrong, it's unforgivable.
Javier Bardiem is ok as Desi Arnez/Ricky Ricardo, but Desi was very handsome and he could sing, Javier is not exactly good looking to me and couldn't sing well.
I don't know why I am a stickler about things like this but I am. If a movie is being made about famous people and historical events that the facts are available easily, you should get the damn facts right and then embellish for storytelling. I DID enjoy portrayals of Vivian Vance/Ethel Mertz and William Frawley/Fred Mertz, because they looked enough like the real people and some of the facts of their relationship were very spot on.
Bottom line? I love Lucy, but I sure didn't love Being The Ricardos.
4/10.

I have loved Rick Springfield since I saw him on General Hospital when I was 4. I'd basically watch him in anything.
This movie could have been better with a different love interest and a better structured story.
The music is great and Rick is gorgeous.
The fact that the brilliant Purple Rain was released this same year as this film really shows what can be done in a story around a musician.
I still watch this one just for Rick Springfield.
