Yeah the title of the movie sounds silly and you think the movie is going to be ridiculous, but it's actually better than I thought it would be. The acting tbf is a bit wooden, the characters aren't the brightest, and the plot is a little rushed at first (two people date, share kiss then suddenly they've been together for a whole summer), but once the ex reappears the movie gets good. I really enjoyed some of the twists it threw in to explain the boyfriend's unorthodox behavior.
Full disclosure I thought this would be related to the video game series or somehow be an inspiration for the games. It's not. What it is instead is a very bad sci-fi movie that tried to mash up a lot of elements from very successful sci-fi movies albeit very poorly. Even the acting is exceedingly wooden, especially when the scientists go on their diatribes trying to explain what's happening. I swear educational videos in actual biology class had better acting than this movie.
The monster looks like the Xenomorph if it got infected by the Thing virus (both of which were clear inspirations for this movie) made of very cheap plastic or latex. And I guess the crew knew how bad their monster looked because we rarely ever see it, instead being told it escaped or attacks someone off screen and we the audience just have to rely on following the actors eyes or movements to trust where the creature has gotten to.
I'm usually someone who enjoys low budget sci-fi films especially alien or monster films and try my best to find something redeeming about them, but this honestly just an all around awful movie. Don't waste your time like I did.

Great concept especially for an animated show, however it's a stretch to call this a comedy. I never once laughed, but did let out the occasional "ha" maybe once or twice an episode. However I'm a big horror fan, so I did enjoy seeing the different references or takes on various horror genres and tropes. But while the show does have some violence and a lot discussion of murder, it never really commits because the show is TV14. I think this is the biggest thing holding the show back from being better. It's NOT adult animation. It's just animation. The show is just too tame to ever be funny unless you really like puns or jokes a 10 year old would say. There's a couple times where you can tell the writers did their best to tiptoe up to the line to be a little edgy or suggestive, but because they just won't cross it, the humor just falls short.
