Rarely have I seen a show explore both the after life and what it means to be human so well. There is so much I want to say but I encourage you to go in blind like I did. So instead I'll try to keep this as vague as possible.

This show really makes you question what it means to be a good person and how we will face judgment. I am not a religious person but I really loved how this show handled the concept of the afterlife and where we end up. It has a lot of basis in various religions (Sheol, reincarnation, the weighing of the soul) without outright adhering to one religion. Many of the episodes will tug on your emotions. Some episodes will make you angry at a particular character, some will make you want to cry because of how wholesome they are, and many will make you question what the right judgement should have been. A lot is left unsaid and it's up to the viewer to draw their own conclusions, but I think this vagueness works because it forces the audience to reflect on their views. If you are just looking for pure fan service, comedy, or lots of action, then look elsewhere, but if you want an anime that is original, tackled mature themes, and forces you to do some self reflection, then give this a watch.

Remember Mortynight Run where Jerry gets left in a Jerry Daycare with a ton of other Jerries. Well this felt like an overdue follow up to that where now Jerry gets to explore those other universes that are missing their Jerry. This episode was fun, easy going, and but also showcased the personal growth Jerry has made over the years. This episode was also the right balance of gags while having a self contained story. We see brief snippets of crazy alternate Rick N Morty universes as Jerry hops around, pausing on each just long that they never overstay their welcome or tire out their gag. It was nice seeing Jerry finally live a little after all the hard work he never does.
