This series is bringing stuff from Blade Runner/ Alien franchise together, as well as many new concepts. Its no longer restricted the Xenomorph, but a host of new character designs. Ridley Scott is executive producer, so makes sense.
CGI has matured enough to blend sfx with vfx, and produce something on the television of this scale. It is not the 1st series with impressive effects, but this is aimed at an adult audience, separating it from things like Marvel Universe.
Noah Hawley is a very talented director, and what he did with Fargo series was amazing also. He's a breed of director, who developed in television, as his success stories have been TV series. None the less this series does have a very cinematic quality. He seems to be a master of extending a franchise, bringing a whole lot of new stuff to the table and giving it a new life.
Really thought the final episode was fantastic. What a way to finish, it's a psychological cliff hanger.
Loved both Alien Romulus and this series. The work of some of my favourite artist/ directors like H. R Giger, Dan O'bannon, Syd Mead, is being immortalised through the continuation and development of their ground work.
Highly underrated series.

Yeah, I can see where this story is coming from. It is uncertain times, and all the liberties we grew up believing were the essence of our culture seem to be slowly slipping away. What is the future for our kids? Dictatorship seems to be coming the new norm, and political instability and the new cold war fears are palpable.
It's a Steven King story and that's what carries it-his writing. Not to mention some decent performances from the cast.
However, I have seen better King adaptions recently, like The Institution tv-series that just came out. It's a bit of a one trick pony, but it moves along ok.
Very much a sign of the times.

I'm pretty jaded, and Its things like this that keep me learning. It's just so odd. Its certainly a case of it turning out to be the person you would least expect. Documentaries like this do draw you in though, as you can not for one second say its boring. You're left sort of flabbergasted. I landed up feeling sorry for everyone involved. I won't give it away, but the person responsible obviously has serious mental health issues for what ever reason. Found it pretty interesting as it is such an unusual case. Hope the family manage to recover over time, as it is pretty upsetting to watch as well. Admire the daughter as she seems very strong and mature for her age, and seems to cope with it really well. If I had been in her shoes. I'm not sure how I would have dealt with it.
