I have read and re-read these books and so I was very curious and even a little bit precious about what was going to happen to my favourite detective quartet. Well, I needn't have worried.
Yes, the story has changed a bit; yes, the characters are a little bit broadly drawn, and bits of sub-plot have disappeared, but this works SO well on the big screen.
I'm really pleased, it's been a long wait and much anticipated, and it was well worth waiting for!
The writers have kept the same sense of humour as the books, and the fab four really shine.
Hats off to Helen Mirren and Celia Imrie as Elizabeth and Joyce - they are fabulous. The rest of the cast is rich with talent and we have a cliff hanger - what is going to happen next?
Well, hopefully another film! A second TMC film is a MUST! NO EXCUSES - TMC assemble and another film next year.. I mean, you've got four wonderful leads and a great supporting cast - all the producers etc. Have to do, is just get on with it! Simple!
