I thought it had an interesting premise. It took me years to get to this movie and I had to shut it off because it's just too cringe in the spots I did watch. There is just no reality in which an individual maintains friendships and family relationships with people who are so oblivious to consideration. In reality, there is no chance a girl supports a guy that much for that long, she is more than selfless, and that truly doesn't exist.
I don't understand why a company would pay so much money to do a film and not actually read the script. This movie is so full of bad clichés and no story telling. In a world where we have high expectations for something new and interesting this movie falls so short. Kraven is one of my favourite Marvel characters and they did him so bad. I don't understand why producers feel it's always necessary to do the backstory of a character. They did the same thing with Madame Webb just so much bull s#$& instead of actual character development. Marvel has so much source material. Why is it that these movie makers don't use it.
I have just rewatched this for the 5th time since it came out and still love it like the first time. Strong diverse characters and not typical North American story writing make this wonderful. Story telling has some anger issues and some things to work through, but it's consistent.
It's unique and Henson's team did a great job great, real villains who are not one dimensional and just psychos, and a huge story front to back. The 2 part finale which was probably condensed from a season to 3 hrs works and checks off lots of boxes. If The two leads didn't have chemistry they wouldn't have been hired for Stargate. Give it a chance and you'll be rewarded.
