As someone who watched and loved the documentary I was excited for this movie. Truthfully the documentary as is, is an amazing story that you didn't have to tweak to make it entertaining with heart. The movie strayed from the documentary in ways it didn't need to. The movie needed more of the recruiting the players to the team as those players had great stories but instead it was just a glossed over montage. Feels like Waititi just wanted to cast his friends as we really didn't need the stuff with Rongens drunken friends or the drama of him being "separated" from his wife while she dated another guy. Even Waititi character was unnecessary as he wasn't funny at all. The best stuff in the movie was all the scenes with Fassbender and the team although they only explored (a little) his bond with Jaiyah (played by Kaimana). The movie needed more with the team as it felt like we had three team members sort of featured and the rest of the team were just extras. Even in other underdog sports movies like Mighty Ducks or Bad News Bears they still highlight all the team members even if the role is smaller. Everyone has a moment.
The best scene was when Rongen finally opens up to his team because it came from a real place and it connected. They wasted too much time trying to make Rongen a grumpy guy who didn't want to be there and was forced too. Instead of focusing on the fact that he was brought in to turn things around and did so in three weeks and he had fun with the team filled with lovable real people with good hearts.
Fassbender, Kaimana and Oscar K were the highlights and all did great jobs.

While nowhere near the level of the first one. This was an ok sequel but it was hard to watch the action scenes with all the damn shaky camera nonsense that a lot of movies incorporate nowadays. It took away from the fight scenes that would've been better without the camera shaking every second. Even none action scenes the camera couldn't stay still. Had they just let the camera sit and let the action play it would be way better. I enjoyed the performance of Huang Xiaoming. His fight scenes were really good. Would've been better without the previously mentioned camerawork. Stallone isn't in this one as much as the first but he's always fun to watch.
