The Electric State is a fun film for the whole family, nothing more and nothing less. We watched it yesterday with our 2 children aged 14 and 17 and they didn't look at their mobile phones, so that says enough. The film is very well made, there is logically a lot of CGI but that doesn't bother at all. The actors are nice and well cast. No unnecessary love story, but a film about friendship. The fact that there are some references to current events, whether conscious or not (Ethan Skate is very reminiscent of Elon Musk) is a nice bonus. Very nice Netflix film that certainly does not deserve the criticism it gets.
It is not illogical that after 7 seasons the tricks of Vince and his friends feel familiar and are less surprising than before. Still I find this episode very refreshing and a highlight in season 7. All the characters have gone through an evolution only Drama remains Drama.
This is a very nice film for the whole family. Ferrell is funny as always playing clumsy Lars but in my opinion he plays the most important supporting role, bacause Rachel MacAdams and the Eurovision song contest itself are the 2 stars of this movie. The atmosphere of the songcontest is perfectly reproduced. The music and performances are beautiful and Rachel is sweet, beautiful and sings like an angel. The music in the movie is beautiful. Many of the songs that are covered could really make it to the final of Eurosong. HUSAVIK will never win the real Eurovision songcontest, but an Oscar for best original song would be deserved.
