Joined Sep 2010
Won best actor among high schools in New York State at a State University sponsored competition. Joined the Army after High School with 2 enlistment periods and college in-between. Retired with 20 years of active service in 1999. Could have continued past 20 years but took the retirement with a later 100% disability rating. Widowed and raising 4 teenage boys. We found that cable /network TV was a waste of time two years ago. Sold all televisions and upscaled our 6 high end, home built PC's with large screens monitors. We use free internet service sites to view programs. (No pirated downloads in my home allowed)Rent on an ongoing basis. My children enjoy the classic movies and are well educated in movies from the 50's to today.

  • Edge of your seat drama

Not since Katharine Hepburn have I seen acting worthy of an Academy Award. How could this movie be over looked? If you beleave that you have not watched this cringing waste of time. One is left to wonder how this movie could get an imdb rating higher than 2. It sounded like a high school production of a poor script. I actually went 30 minutes into this before I started punching my groin to take me out of the trance.

  • Yawn. Two thumbs down 20 minutes in

The three star rating was for costume and props. I like when a movie can at least look authentic. Westerns for me , must have things look dirty. It was a dirty frontier, not clean and sweet like Little house on the prairie. Zero stars for acting. Simply put, the Southern/western accents are horrible. Zero stars for screenplay. The use of profanity in a western always kills it for me. Classic westerns have zero profanity compared to modern linguistics. I just roll my eyes and end the movie at this point. Very early on a gesture was made with a gun barrel that was out of date. I stopped watching the movie when a man said "You mother fu¿€ing ¿ocksucker" seriously, this is not the language of a New Mexico Territory circa 1871. For this, Jane's got a gun lacks the authenticity of an old west story. I was interested at first because it had a woman as the protagonist. But the picture as a whole, she could not champion any particular cause or idea. Jane's got a gun reminded me of G I Jane, of all things. A poor attempt to portray a woman as strong or as tough as a man. My time would have been better spent watching grass grow. The flashbacks were unnecessary and ill placed.

  • Show me were the vomitorium is

A vomitorium is a passage situated below or behind a tier of seats in an theater, through which big crowds can exit rapidly at the end of a performance. In the case of this movie, during the beginning. I am a DEVO and Neil Young but this was a total waste of talent. This just goes to show you...drugs do not make you more creative. Well I have just spent more time in this review than I did the movie. Anyone rates this above a 1, needs their head examined. Darn, 10 lines of text. Young spent $3,000,000 of his own money on production of this movie. Do people have any idea what 3 million could buy in 1982? 10 lines? OMG, there should be an exception for movies that only need one word...AWFUL!!
