This feels more like a project that a college student would do for the drama class. Writing, acting, direction are all almost amateur. There are exception in acting, but then there are actors that are so themselves that you cannot help but think "hey that's Liz Lemon"!
To me it seems like the show is trying really hard to check off boxes, without any real meaning. Gay. Check! Black. Check. Interracial couples. Check. They/them looking entitled brat daughter. Check. Cheating. Check. None of these things add anything to the story and they feel very forced. At some point in the show, one of the character confesses to their partner that they had kissed somebody (off camera and with absolutely no clue to the viewers) and then their partner laughs and the next time they see each other they don't even bring it up!
I have no idea what all the hype is about. Steve Carrell is not bad here although far from his best. But the show as a whole is garbage.

Well I think the title says it all. A series that tries to make a hero out of the most unlikable character of any production I have ever watched.
The protagonist is a suspected war criminal, who uses violence constantly, holds innocent people at gunpoint to make them answer her questions, hides evidence from the cops, etc.. And the series insists on portraying her as a hero, which is infuriating.
The entire series is littered with inconsistencies. For instance, in the first episode Maya thinks her husband might be alive and suddenly in the second episode she's trying to convince her sister-in-law that he's dead!!! A whistle blower who released some damning videos about Maya is sitting on evidence that he will not share with the cops. Instead, he shares them willingly with Maya; the person he blew the whistle on! Why would he do that?
At one point in the series, Maya's child is screaming and she's clearly in distress. Instead of running to her child, Maya wakes up, runs to the gun cabinet, calmly puts on her gloves, picks up a gun, and just stands there for a few seconds giving a determined look to the camera and then slowly goes to help her child. What kind of a mother does that? If you want people to watch the show and like it, you have to give them a reason to root for the protagonist, not several reasons to despise her.
All in all, do not watch. I wasted my time, don't waste yours.

Acting is simply horrible. With a few exceptions (Phoenix Raei, Eve Harlow, D. B. Woodside) everyone else is either horribly miscast or simply a very bad actor. The leads are unbelievable and simply laughable at times. The White House staff are ridiculously bad.
On to the story, there are several holes in the story. I don't want to give too much away, but things happen for no logical reason. It seems like logic doesn't play a big part in the series. You can guess the main plot points after episode 3.
All in all, the combination of horrible actors and mediocre storylines make this into a below average TV show.
