I am not a K-Pop fan but this film amazed me with its songs especially the final song by Saja boys. Watched it just because my 4 year old daughter wanted to watch this but it hooked me right away. Groovy songs, great voice acting, beautiful characters. I think the sequels will be more polished in terms of visuals. You don't really mind if the story and songs are nice. Sony created a gem with combination of Japanese anime and Korean pop. Solid 8 out of 10 for me. Loved it.
Paid Rs 100, watched it on YouTube. Fair pricing I give this to Aamir Khan he is not a loot but I read it in Indian express that the film costed $ 14-15 million i.e Rs 122 to 133 Crores my question is who took the money ? I know Aamir doesn't take upfront fees and recent hit Saiyaara was made on a budget of Rs 50 Cr so where did the money go ? You can only justify the budget if they spent like Rs 100 crores on marketing which is absurd.
Ok moving on to the review frankly speaking the movie felt like a lazy attempt considering Aamir Khans standards. It's clear Aamir is not good at comedy he is very good at serious and emotional scenes but comedy is not his forte he is always the same old Ranchoddas chanchad of 3 idiots. I felt this movie is a missed opportunity. It could have been the feel good version of Dangal. I know sports was not the main theme but considering how important it was to the plot a little effort on show casing good sport was important. There was absolutely no effort in that field at all. The specially abled kids were amazing each having unique character and charisma. The subplots i.e Genelia and Aamir story didn't have any charm or fun element it felt like a drag. This movie could have been shorter by 30 minutes easily. The script is not tight and crisp. Comedy scenes were not well written there were hits and misses. I think the climax was wonderful which gave a very good message. It was emotionally satisfying. They nailed the ending which rarely happens in Bollywood. Overall it's a one time watch. Even with less expectations this film fails to keep you engaged. 7/10 for me.
