This is a great and hilarious show! It's disturbing every single second, but hilarious. Watching this "family" getting by, "shamelessly" provides a lot of insight into how poor people really live, the fact that they are "always" down on their luck, the fact that they are dirty, have no class, speak like c-class dogs, and ultimately makes the biggest case for why having kids should not be a right, but a privilege! I really think this show should be shown in schools to demonstrate to kids "how bad life can get". These are the true monoethnic, monolingual, "normal" trash that America has to offer and it's fascinatingly....scary! Hahahah.
I found this movie to be quite beautiful. I love the simplicity and unlikeliness of the love story. It has a "quietness and simplicity", which a lot of people will confuse for "boring" or "slow" which leads to a great love story and a feel good vibe. Never expected Liam Hemsworth and Laura Dern to have such good chemistry but it really makes me want to find whatever they have because I am the same type of "quiet, solitary" person and it makes me feel like there someone out there for everyone and that the universe guides you, whether you want to or not, in the right direction. You should definitely watch it if you're in a "deep" state of mind and are looking for a beautiful escape :)
This is proof that you can throw a big budget at anything, but it's pointless.
This movie is so bad....the only word that comes to mind is "ew" or "lame".
The cheesy machismo, bravado, stupid attitude from "da hood". There's no real character development and there's so much awkwardness....it's just a painful experience to watch. Trying to pull off an Deepika as the hottie is laughable. The only two "serious" actors in this movie are Samuel L Jackson and Toni Colette, though I doubt their participation spruced up their CV.
You know what is the most pitiful thing though? That Vin Diesel, still thought he could pull it off or is able to pull off these cheesy early-2000's roles like the "tough guy" at 55.....he's not even that tough looking or "ripped" like Dwayne Johnson or Henry Cavill. Then again, he probably needed an easy paycheck from the Chinese production company.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!
