The plot is typical of hundreds of films of this type, but its done with more style and imagination than most. Most kung fu fight scenes in other films I find confusing and boring with bodies and limbs flying about in a tangled mess, but here they come across more convincingly. Considering the film has no star power to carry it everyone acts well albeit tongue in cheek at times. Obviously this film borrows heavily on Die Hard, but hey who cares, well entertaining over a few beers with brain in neutral, go for the ride!
Superb story, script, acting, nice to see Kevin Costner back on form.
I can only praise this film and hope Hollywood can knock out another masterpiece soon, but while super heroes rain supreme I doubt it very much.
Highly recommended.
The ending is original but boy its painful getting their. Good setup and premise but do we really care about who lives dies etc. As per usual don't go to any remote village in Scotland, Cornwall or anywhere remote because the locals always pick on visitors etc. Lots of people seem to rave about this film, presumably they haven't watched it. Apart from the ending there is nothing original about this film, another Netflix film done on abudget of nothing and boy does it show.
