I thought this was the show with Steve Buscemi playing God, but it's not, however, it's really sweet. I am not a particularly religious person, but I like to think there is a higher power we can all tap into, and I think that's what this show is going for.
VERY likable cast, and the big message is that we should LISTEN TO and TALK WITH each other.... a super message these days.
It's very light-hearted, so that's a nice change from a lot of the dark stuff I tend to watch and it's just nice that there is a show sending out a nice positive message.
It's not Christian propaganda as others have sited, yeah it uses God as the premise, but the last time I checked, God wasn't the sole dominion of Christians!! The first guest the lead character has on his podcast is a friend who is a rabbi.
Anyway, it's a sweet, feel-good show. If you have young teens (as I think younger kids might get bored), I think as it's not pandering to any specific age, just simple ideas of be good, do good and help people when you can.

I really do wish people would stop calling this a parody. Galaxy Quest is a parody. This show takes Star Trek (esp. TNG) framework and makes it a bit more human. The characters aren't perfect, they do dumb stuff, they make fart jokes, the whole show is less operatic/Shakespearean in tone.
Is it as amazing as the fan boys say?? No, but overall, it's really good. I'm a fan of the original show (I even had one of those toy phasers that shot plastic discs!), loved ST:TNG and Deep Space 9, so it's nice to see a world similar to that back on TV.
There's good characters, 90% of the time really good writing and story lines. Overall the show looks really good and the music is fantastic. I hope that Fox renews it, as it's nice to have a good space show to watch. And I like that the overall tone is light and hopeful, we need that right now.
