Reading some of these reviews this show clearly isn't for everyone but damn is it for me. Just to give you my perspective, I work early hours and have a hard time staying awake even for good shows. I look forward to Alien Earth every week and the dread filled tension keeps me alert for every episode. Delightfully on the edge of my seat. I've seen complaints about the young age of some of the characters but in a world of advanced knowledge I like having the naive, young, synthetic, human-like creatures view. The cast seems perfect to me. I've been a fan of Timothy Olyphant since Justified and he is perfect as always. The special effects are out of this world as they need to be for an Alien series. There is real vision in this. The show creators know exactly what they're doing and that is palpable in every scene. If you like the horror genre I don't see how you wouldn't like this.

Like most people probably do I start a lot of shows and turn them off when they're disappointing. I assumed based on the reviews I'd do that with this one too but I like shows with this theme so I gave it a shot. It's better than the reviews. It's definitely not a hill house or bly manor which are superior Netflix shows of the same genre but it is entertaining. The acting is not great but not distracting and the premise is buyable. The IMDb user reviews used to be trustworthy but something has gone amiss. If you're looking for a series that's fun but not anything you'll need to rewind because you missed a plot point you'll probably like this.

This show is big time. If they'd made four two-hour movies people would be waiting in line for each release. Wildly compelling and exciting. You won't be disappointed.
