If you are a comic fan you can see this as a fanfic summer crossover, with one writer across multiple titles.
They gender and/or race swapped almost every character and gave them them most obvious synonym names. The Flash is an Australian woman called the Speed who uses the Fast Force.
The story is typical DC extra dark edgelord story with twists and turns more for shock value that good story telling. The big twist is why I call this a fanfic.

First I have never listened to any Critical Role. The Animation is great, story is decently written and acting is pretty damn good. My problem is they spent two episodes fighting a Dragon and the rest of the series is a Vampire Psychodrama. They blew their load on the first two and it was downhill from there for me. It did feel as if there where dice rolls dictating the events. Love Laura Bailey but I was not expecting an English Accent, was hoping she would be using her Keiko voice. Worth a watch.
I even drank a Monster right before since I knew it would be slow. I woke up a minute or two later. There is nothing MCU or exceptional outside of the mid-credit scene, in that regard it lives up to the source material but without Kirby's kinetic story telling.
