First things first, the story. It's basically a by numbers enemies to lovers trope, about two opposite lawyer who married after drunk. The story itself isn't that special, and even the element he-saved-him-in-the-past could be written better, but the chemistry is hot. Like sizzling hot. But that's not the reason I ended up writing the review. I love what the male leads wear in this drama. The suits, the not-so subtle color combination (my fave is their look in the court; pairing the green suit and the tie and handkerchief on another guy), and the naughty decision to use animal print in their look steal my heart. And the brooches! Ugh, as soon I saw them, I just order the similar ones lol. I really like it~ For the first time, I feel like the short drama doesn't looks cheap because of their limited budget. Bravo, Wardrobe department guys! Kudos on your hard work~ 💕
I'll start this review by admitting that I watched it while writing. I'm working on my novel, so I guess there's nothing wrong with putting on a light movie while working. But 10 minutes into the movie I decided to watch it seriously. There's something about the awkwardness of the main character that I couldn't ignore. And it turned out to be true. This is a great movie, which incorporates Indian elements without coming across as heavy and patronizing. In fact, I understand why Indian culture has to be included. Because from the beginning to the end I felt the element of family that was strengthened by elements of customs. And more deeply, the movie also discusses her father and mother who got married because they were arranged. So I wasn't surprised at all when the main character said they knew what love was. But this movie doesn't try to patronize or judge. The script gets into the characters, offering their perspectives that aren't always right. But these characters are also trying hard to be good, for themselves and also for their families.
Since Reacher is a Prime production, I was worried that season 3 would experience a decline in quality like I felt when watching Jack Ryan. But after watching season 3, I feel like this is the right time to apologize. I was very wrong. Reacher is still my favorite series. New setting, new people. The world of Bizarre Bazaar which is not only complex also makes me worried whether Reacher can complete his task well. The first episode begins with a rescue mission for a businessman's son who is about to be kidnapped. Reacher panics when he realizes he killed the police, and wants to disappear completely. But the child begs Reacher to take him back to his father, optimistic that he can help him. But my guess, that this is not a Reacher's villain story, turned out to be right. He uses the kidnapping to enter the world of the carpet businessman. And so-called reunion with old enemies, this story is getting more complicated and exciting. Among the 3 seasons, this season is my favorite. More complex because it has more villains. Seasons 1 and 2 focused more on one big villain. And for the first time, Reacher met somebody's bigger and stronger than him. I mean, OMG! Season 3 is really the proof that the creator knows how to put their audience hooked. I love it so much~
