Let's start off with any decent pilot and yeah it's maybe too early to tell but this is the worst way to start. Horrible writing, mostly lame shallow characters (Sure Colin Farrell disappeared into his fat suit and is unrecognizable except for his voice) no real establishing of decent supporting actors that showed any real depth (again not much to work with so can't blame them).

Comparing this to The Sopranos makes the show look even worst so just stop with that right now please. There's a great number of shows since and including Sopranos that have amazing pilots with superb showrunners , the best writers directors and a great ensemble cast like The Wire, Deadwood, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Succession, True Detective(season 1 only) Lost , The Walking Dead , Six Feet Under, Dexter etc ...and yes these shows all start with a strong pilot which is pivotal to making a great show or at the very least starting off with one

The main plot here is Oz rise to power which starts off as a non grapic novel comic book would in a way but only using a Villion .It's adapted for HBO so fine it's The Penguin story and I haven't looked into if this was green lit for the entire season or based off the pilot but most likely it a full season given the Batman movie Oz character and Warner Brothers owns the DC property. Again there's not much for a good actor to work with here amd no this isn't anywhere near how the oscar winning performance of Heath Ledger as Joker in The Dark Knight Returns(someone actually put it in their review on here) Go watch Watchmen (Great HBO show based off The created by Damon Lindelof even just the pilot which is amazing.

Sorry maybe I live in another universe as all the critics on blast saying this is groundbreaking, thrilling, intriguing or whatever and tons of users reviews even almost every youtube review so far . I totally feel alone in this and outnumbered...yes all these critics have seen the first season or most of it but based on this pilot I'd go 2.0.

2.9/10 Great job on the prosthetics and fat suit for The Penguin character and mostly great performance when he's not talking or saying a bunch of forgettable lines. Rhenzy Feliz as the teenage piss-ant side kick who's over acting and not much to rave about obviously only for me lol Definitely check out and try to get through next episode or 2 but not if they keep on this track !

This show doesn't feel like star wars at all but it's no surprise. I get Disney plus free through the phone company and haven't opened the app in almost a year and after trying to watch this show (it's hard to get 10 minutes in) I don't think I'll bother ever bothering with anything Disney ever again definitely not anything Star Wars RIP. It's so crazy that they don't understand star wars and even after releasing Force Awak. Yeah it was cool at the time but only parts of the the first movie after that the series totally failed the fans again and again and again.....Go find a buyer maybe Lucas will take it back but at half price what he paid it's so ruined doubt there's any Hope left..

Robert Downey Jr on an HBO show that Team Downey produced is looking promising after episode one . Looking forward to seeing how this series plays out ,definitely has an interesting story. People saying in their reviews that Downey should let another actor play the role is ridiculous , having one of the best actors of our time playing this role can only improve this show also bring in more viewers considering the other cast members are unknown but after seeing the pilot the cast is great! The last show that Team Downey produced about Perry Mason was amazing so I would expect this to be just as good if not better ,guess we'll see.
