Everybody is hating "Rebel Moon", primarily for its shallow writing, underdeveloped characters, and derivative plot, which felt like a mix of Star Wars and Seven Samurai without the depth, relying heavily on style, slow-motion, and spectacle over substance, leading to a dull and unengaging experience despite its interesting world-building and visuals...
Ok... so what?
As far as I remember, George Lucas ALSO COPIED the story of his StarWars saga! Lucas' StarWars is based almost entirely on DUNE novel! If you have read the Dune novel first... and then you watched the Episodes 4,5,6 (the good-old StarWars trilogy), basically is EXACTLY the same story! Not mention that Lucas ALSO copied a lot Kurosawa's films plots (he took a lot ideas from the great Japanese's creator).
So... basically Lucas did exactly what Snyder did!
For all the other rest things, all Snyder's movies have the same "elements". So, if you don't like "Rebel Moon", means you don't like Snyder movies in general - which is fine, acceptable.
To me, I enjoyed the movie. Nothing special, nothing unique, nothing "new", but it was a good sci-fi "space opera" and I enjoyed it.
...Now... about the SECOND part, this specific movie here. The only thing I DIDN'T LIKE, was how EASILY few peasants and half dozen good fighter, they defeated an entire battleship, well trained troops, etc.
That's the only part I didn't like. TOO EASY they defeated the "bad guys"...
