The show overall is just entirely unrealistic. Like every male presented in the show is either in love or wanting to date/sleep with the main character and let's be real... this would NEVER happen in real life. In fact, in a lot of ways the main character is really quite a "man repellent" with her constant whining/complaining, self centered and overly dramatic personality. Not to mention the horrible outfits she wears.
The writing is quite witty and funny at parts. I binge watched the entire series, but not sure if it was more of a "hate watch" kind of situation as I found the main character to be really irritating!
And that ending... just ridiculous.

This show is NOT what you think it is. It tries very hard to make it seem like it's some kind of cult/thriller mini series with a bunch of twists and turns (I LOVE those kind of things), but this show is NOT THAT. Pretty dishonest of the show runners/writers in my opinion.
Honestly the "big surprise" fell very flat for me. I love Julianne Moore and Kevin Bacon, they are fantastic A-list actors but their talent is wasted on a story like this. If you're looking for a similar show with all the glitz and glamour of New England old money lifestyles, watch "the perfect couple" on Netflix instead. At least that had an interesting ending.
