I was not a fan of this show in season 1, and most of season 2. I stuck with it out of boredom. I saw the characters as 2-dimensional caricatures.

Somewhere along the way, that changed. The characters were self-aware, just enough, to give the show some depth.

Eventually, I started to binge the show, not out of boredom, but because I was really enjoying it.

Then we come to this episode. Here I am, a middle-aged, straight man, and I'm weeping at the beauty of this gay couple dealing with coming out to parents. So wonderfully written and acted. Bravo!
