I dare to say, I loved the show even more than I loved the movies, and that says a lot, as I love the work of Denis Villeneuve. The entire cast is fantastic, but Emily Watson shines bright among them. Just outstanding! The story is very compelling and well written, leaving us eager for the next episode. I loved that the story is centered around the Bene Gesserit and their establishment as a force to be reckoned in the Dune universe. Although I've read the first two books, i think it might be helpful for those who are now starting to get into the Dune universe, and it also might help them better understand the movies. I loved the sets and the combination of sci-fi, supernatural, mystery and horror. Highly recommend it!
90 minutes of hard-hitting non-stop good old fashion horror. Builds up on the mythology of the first movies and doesn't disappoint. A few minor flaws of course, which can be easily overlooked as they were obviously a choice to cut the runtime of the movie, and I think they surprisingly help the movie's pace, as the director opted for the smart thing in horror: the less explanations, the greater the fear. I really enjoyed it as it keeps you in your toes. I'm a big horror fan and, unlike others, I didn't find it cliché at all, because it had a lot of good horror scenes. The acting was great and the Director is clearly a Kubrick fan, with several nods to him.
