I wasn't sure about the show until the end of the second episode. No spoilers, but the sound effects alone were so visceral as to make me excited to see more! The visual effects also were also quite grotesque! The gore reminds me of the fun practical effects of 80/90s horror, but blended with CGI.
The show finds it's footing by the end of the second episode. I think it's absolutely fine for showrunners to take their time to work into the story - in the past we gave series a lot more time when 24 episodes was the norm.
I'll be interested to see what direction the show takes from here. Fun new show :)

I didn't particularly enjoy this movie or see any overall point to it. It wasn't much of a comedy, and I lost interest in whatever drama was occurring.
The characters were fairly unsympathetic and/or uninteresting. Penny (Dreama Walker) was particularly unlikeable - bitchy to everyone without cause, yet convinced she's more mature than the average man. When the thoroughly hen-pecked Kenny (Tate Ellington) finally loses his cool with her, the film treats him as the one in the wrong.
I liked the ending (not just because it was over), but because it was the one little touch of humanity in the whole film. It's not really worth watching just to find out what I'm talking about here.

I don't know where the negatives are coming from, as this was a great movie. This film was very watchable, and very enjoyable. It wasn't a normal teen drama, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to watch, and it dealt with adult themes as well as teenage issues. I'll admit, it was very different from what I normally watch but I'm glad I watched it. There were some very funny moments, as well as some very human moments.
The actors did a great job, and never seemed false or wooden. They seemed as natural in the role of teenagers as I've seen really. Each of the main characters developed realistically over the course of the night portrayed in the film, anything more would be over the top.
I'm suspicious of the strongly negative user reviews saying that the acting was 'weak', and wonder about deliberately false reviews. The negative reviews couldn't be more wrong, and are probably designed just to sink the movie for cynical commercial reasons.
