Firstly I would like to start by saying that I am a big fan of both of the leads in this film and have always had a soft spot for Kevin Bacon movies. Yeah I know he ain't the best actor but there has always been a likable and believable quality to him!!! That said this was truly the worst acting i have ever seen from him, the acting was only under shadowed by the fantastically awful accent which he had taken on "the Brit" really?? more the Ozzie!! I can truly say that this is the worst English accent which I have heard since old Dicky boy in the mighty Mary Poppins, now i know that however awful Dick Van Dyke was Mary Poppins was truly a fantastic film and the accent can be overlooked - this however cannot be said about this movie as it was totally horrific! the action was slow, the fight scenes were boring and unrealistic and overall the whole film was simply a wast of my life! I can truly say that this film is the worst film i have seen in several years (and i have watched Piranha 3D so need i say more).

Is this the end of Kevin Bacon ?? :( I hope not! I gave this a star rather than none as it was the only way i could leave this and save potential watchers from wasting their own precious time the way i did!

Right, I love all the actors in this movie and i love the principal and the suggestion of this movie BUT and a really big but!!! the movie is awful, the acting is of a decent standard but the special effects are terrible, the main story line is hollow and of no real substance! the dark was simply that, it took me three days to re-adjust to the light! The Ending was incredible, well incredibly climatic Not! I would not recommend this movie to anyone who likes horror movies, however the B movie lover would be right at home! just thinking of the special effects again! deplorable, a first year IT designer could do better, damn my grandmother could do better!

I have to say that as someone who rarely writes reviews for movies I feel the need to do so on this occasion. This movie is fantastic, the cast are brilliant, I think that Abbey is an adorable young actress who shines through in this movie. The "forbidden romance" element to this is beautiful, even after the knowledge that Abbey's "father" was clearly her original boy love! The dark, drab environment only adds to the beauty of the movie, with all the modern day special effects (the vampire makeup etc...) only emphasized by the low budget looking effect of the movie! I can truly say that i would advise anyone to watch this movie which is brilliant! I too shall be buying the book and looking into watching the original version of this !! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!
