If you want to see a good Black movie then watch BET's The Reading. Forget The Blackening, it's sucks.
The trailer for this movie made me want to see it so bad that I got a subscription to BET's streaming service just so I could see it.
BET's The Reading has emotion, sadness, creepiness, no sex or nudity (which is refreshing), the black characters have white friends, and there is a plot twist that I will not tell you about. It does have A LOT of foul language, but it does not seem gratuitous as it is a part of the characters culture. No one can say the F-word quite like Mo'nique LOL!
Don't miss this one, it's worth the money...and you can't say that about most movies made today.

Idk what all the rave reviews are about. I read some good ones that made me want to see this movie, but, it was all just lies.
Could've picked a better actor for the main character than this one expression, bad actor from a Star Wars franchise movie.
I gave it 3 out of 10 stars for Jamie Foxx and for the character YoYo who were both funny.
And since I have to put a "required" amount of characters in my review, I will use the required amount of characters to express a dislike for the writer / director Juel Taylor who is also responsible for the flop of a movie, the Space Jam remake. From now on, I refuse to watch anything she had a hand in making. Glad I watched it for free.

OMG this show totally sucks! The actress that plays the daughter is unbearable to the point that she owes me an apology. The guy that plays the son is slappable (as in I'd like to slap him). I like Kira Sedgwick, but, she must be desperate to agree to be in something like this. Even the "music" as it's coming on sucks. The only good thing I can say about the episode I saw is that it's over...and this series should be too.
