Just like so many shows before, this series has a character that seems smarter than anyone in the room while coping with a wacky sister and an ex-wife that remain in his life. I was looking forward to the series but each week the plot becomes sillier and less interesting.
The script is often stiff and for several of the episodes borders on preachy and political. Entertainment is what I am searching for when I watch network fare, not a documentary or a teaching moment. So if you need a show to take a nap thru or if your reading while you "watch", this could be the perfect fare, I will watch Monday night football thru the end of the year and then find something else.

Loved the first 2 seasons but a couple of very good characters were written out of season 3 and replaced with flat, less talented tv cops. New character-male just does long scary looks and fortunately little dialog. He seems to be in need of special assistance and acting lessons. New character-female needs acting lessons and a better script.
The ensemble do not feel like a group working together, more like a group thrown together to get through a project or something. Scripted conversations are a bit forced and unrealistic. Sadly the series now seems less interesting and definitely formulaic.

Wasn't terribly interested in this movie but as it turns out it was well worth the time.
