Indeed, it was everything, everywhere, all at once. Great story, top-notch acting and awesome direction. I laughed and cried, get scared and amazed, and felt many other emotions during the short period of time of the movie.
The story progress well, not too much introduction or too long ending. Although story evolves around a Chinese family, but the events should be familiar to most of us.
The VFX was not fancy, in a good way. It was not unrealistic crazy visual effects that we see in the other movies, it was there to complete the story.
Kudos to the creator and the team behind this movie.

Netflix is going down the drain for creating such a loooong series out of a simple story, and worst of all, put in "food" category while it is merely related to food.
