  • Stupid and ridiculously unbelievable, yet entertaining!

Stupid and ridiculously unbelievable, yet different enough to be entertaining! 6/10. Others are saying poor john wick. John wick 1 was entertaining. The rest were boring carbon copies. The beekeeper is dumber, and less believable, but what it lacks in quality it makes up for in absurdity. The tech bro bad guys and their offices are like the hackers in the 1995 movie of the same name (caricatures). They look like what a boomer imagines when they hear "cyber criminal". Many of the characters make decisions that don't make any sense for people in their positions. At one point a wealthy oligarch faced with death takes the high ground, says they're going to come clean, and tell the truth, when in reality they'd probably throw everyone under the bus. Watch it if you don't want to think.

  • The producer should be in prison

Crazy documentary. Not in the "haha" funny kind of way. More in a "the producer and pretty much every decision maker involved should be tried in the Hague and imprisoned for a decade" kind of way... Anything less than them personally paying an above average wage to this man for the rest of his life is grave injustice.

This show is what happens when capitalism is not held accountable. It was pure, unbridled exploitation, kidnapping, and psychological trauma for profit. Anyone justifying otherwise is an absolute psychopath. The producer tries to make it seem as though he was conflicted, but he's very obviously a raging narcissist.

Nasubi has the heart of a lion. 99% of humanity would not be able to ensure what he went through. I wish him the best.

  • A high level summary for the history newb

It's not bad, but there are far better documentaries on WW2. It gives a high level summary of the key battles, and provides a decent variance in perspectives in that limited time - highlighting how there are no moral victors in war - but 6 hours is not enough to tell this story. Some of the colourisation does not look natural; too technicolor and one dimensional.

I've watched 50-100 hours of WW2 documentaries, and you can spend the same amount of time just on a single front, and not even scratch the surface. Give it a go if you don't know much, then watch "the color of war", or one of the other older doco's. New is not always better.
