So it's been glaringly obvious as these episodes have progressed that the writers decided to Kentaro as a weak cuck. The nerve to have Mae, his estranged girlfriend (or whatever), making a moving on his step-sister, who is no angel herself as she's been initiating herself, just seems like this weird throuple that nobody asked for in a monster movie. This show has def ran off the rails, as it feels like Gen Z wrote this crap in a nod to polyamorous relationships. They had one job today do...write a good sci-if show, and instead we got Melrose Place with the occasional guest star-Godzilla. Luckily a few of these episodes are actually pretty good-when the main characters are running for their lives.
The kids make the first episode almost unwatchable. Jade is annoying as hell. Billie is redeemable because she has better acting chops and is written better. The angry crappy kid towards their overworked parent is just a trope that needs to die in shows-especially one based on a dystopian world. I might watch one more to see if the highschool CW vibe fades.
