The action and storyline are reasonably OK, with strong production values. However, as with many of these jingoistic attempts, there aren't really any redeeming features to any of the characters. They're mostly deeply unpleasant, and I haven't warmed to, or identified with, one character. It seems that dropping the f-bomb every second syllable is de rigeur, in order to maximise their perceived toughness. Yeah, I know that you've got to be a baddie to catch a baddie, but I really don't care who 'takes out' who in the end. This isn't the kind of redemption we need.
What on earth have I just watched? Some kind of home invasion movie... But there's no context for it at all.
The first 10 minutes of the film seem entirely incongruous, with the flimsiest of connections with the rest of the film. There's no subsequent character development and the story makes no sense. People die, plus some of the attackers. That's all. The most upsetting part is the poor dog. I really can't add any more because there's nothing to add.

I remember that The Wolf of Wall Street gained a reputation as the movie with the greatest number of F-Bombs per square inch in history. Until now. The only time I ever heard more F & C Bombs than in this hour and a half was a day back in 1982 when my dad was putting an IKEA Wardrobe together. This movie doesn't have a strong story, and every single character was deeply unpleasant. It wasn't entertaining, just 90 minutes exposure to an experience of lives that have no redeeming features. I'm not sure what the director was wanting to tell us. Anyone with an Italian name isn't very nice? Now, I'm losing the will to live, trying to write enough words to tell you to give the film a swerve. 2 stars for the fact that it ends.
