On his last day of retiring, CIA operative has 24 hours to do whatever he can to rescue an operative gone rogue from a Chinese Prison, while the US wants to leave him there to die.
It's somewhat of an ugly and uncomfortable movie (mostly grays and browns) with good setup and tense moments, and efficient execution that delivers a lot more than I expected when almost half the story takes place in an office. But it keeps it fresh by introducing bits of past missions, friendship and the foundation for what happens.
It is mainly a Robert Redford's film, while Brad Pitt has a good supporting role. But the rest of the cast deliver excellently written characters.. from the secretary, to the people making top-brass choices.
Somewhat entertaining, but it is very well done.

An almost entire classroom of children disappear during the night, out of their own accord.. and no one knows why.
In my opinion, after all the anticipation due to the amount of praise it got, was justified. It was a very enjoyable and interesting horror mystery film, with a fresh storytelling execution and script. It has its ups and downs, but the climax was very satisfying for me! There seems to have a background theme of Parasites, but otherwise, the plot is very straightforward and digestible. Not much else to grasp onto, but to watch it develop.
The casting is good, but with two standouts! Both Amy Madigan as the "sick aunt", and Austin Abrams as the best "junky" I've probably ever seen. The production is good, the movie is colorful and unexpectedly energetic and fun.
Which makes for an easy recommendation for anyone that likes the genre, as it is a quality and engrossing-yet-simple film.

Indiana Jones has a final (I hope) globe-trotting adventure, trying to find the Dial of Archimedes.
Sadly, a competent script idea wrapped around a lot of obvious elements that don't work.. those that immediately scream "don't do it" to anyone that is not Hollywood and its lack of understanding to what people really care about.
Putting all of that aside, my takeaways are: Both Harrison Ford and Mads Mikkelsen deliver great performances (as expected), and the climax of the movie is surprisingly interesting (where these other elements are thankfully absent). Also, the quality of its overall-production is good (CGI not so much at times).. and it at least tries to tie loose ends in a respectful manner.
Inside the 2 and a half hours of film, there's a quality short. As it is, its highs were just much better than expected for me to give it a lower score.
