it appears that many people think this is a show about Elvis, even thou it's called "Sun Records". Well, surprise: It's about sun records and its founder Sam Philipps. And it's not about Elvis. Nor Johnny Cash. Or Jerry Lee Lewis. It also is not about Michael Jackson or Lady Gaga. It's called Sun Records, remember? If you feel betrayed, I figure it's your own fault - for not reading the series' title. whoops, huh.
As such, I find it the perfect way to portray the beginnings of rock'n'roll since sun records played a main part in that. The playing is very decent, the narratology works rather well.
Thank you for giving us this mini series.

I fell in love with this series against my will. I started watching it because I had nothing else to do. I thought it would be complete and utter ... well ... yeah. It wasn't. Because the two protagonist work together ever so well, there's no other cop-series I know that can compare to this.
The stories are well-told but sometimes a bit predictable or not too credible. However, the lack of realism is compensated by the credibility of the great cast.
What else is notable: The soundtrack. Whoever's in charge for the tunes that go with these episodes, they have a great feel for what's fitting, what's new and good. I bought myself at least 3 new LPs because of this show. So here's to whoever's in charge of the soundtrack: Thanks for showing me tons of new bands.
