One of the main strengths of Black Mirror has been its ability to use futuristic technology as a backdrop to explore profound societal issues. However, "Loch Henry" seemingly abandons this approach, presenting a straightforward and ordinary story that could be found in any other drama series. The absence of the show's trademark technological elements leaves the episode feeling disconnected from the broader Black Mirror universe.
Overall, "Loch Henry" is a disappointing addition to the Black Mirror canon. Its departure from the show's signature themes and lackluster execution make it an episode that feels disconnected and out of touch with the spirit of the series. Hopefully, future episodes of Black Mirror will return to the thought-provoking and unsettling storytelling that made the show so captivating in the first place.
