I can only assume that most of the reviews are from folks familiar with the game. I've never heard of the game, but do enjoy SiFi. Well from the outside looking in...this is a very disconnected story and lots of nonsensical scenes. Having said that.... If you just need something to occupy your mind...trying to figure this thing out will help. I've only watched the first episode....but do think it may start to come together after a few more. Regardless...lots of graphic gore, lots of advanced technology blended with archaic technology, frame building still standing, masonry buildings destroyed.... Nothing makes sense...
This is probably the last episode I (we) watch. My wife and I are both tired of the slanted politics. I guess I shouldn't be surprised with anything coming out of the entertainment industry. There is zero effort to show why someone might have a different perspective on the subjects of today. "News" alert...if you look at the big picture ...the viewing public has different views of the world's issues ...why not provide something for everyone? Echo chamber themes ...no creativity or skill needed for that. Then to make it even worse .... There are no more like-able characters...anyone that one may have appreciated along the way manages to do something to change one's mind.... I'm out...
Okay...I wanted to like it more. However the first 30 minutes was a bit too much of Oppenheimer's mental visions and esoteric political bent. After that, it got better. Still be prepared for numerous time hops that can be a bit confusing, something to identify the timeline would have been helpful. I appreciated the moral dilemma, but also know that one needs to find comfort in the greater good.
Some of the liberties taken were slanted...certainly didn't make Truman look too good. Even if it was subtle, the spin was there....poor Hollywood can't help itself. Can we not just have a factual movie without the "message" ?
