How in the world did somebody film this and think, "yeah this is good, let's put it out" dude, my nine year old could've done a better title screen, wtf was the fog??? what is going on in these peoples heads when they're putting all of this together lmao. at first I was like, is this a parody? like there's no way that somebody made this and thought it was good afterwards. the camera angles are so bad. bad directing. awful production. the acting is the worst part. I mean listen- I love a good b movie. but this is just..so unbelieveably bad I honestly want to go throw the whole thing in my firepit and try to wipe it out of my brain forever .
I caved in and saw the Rise of Skywalker.
I didn't want to see it because I had seen spoilers, I saw who died and it ruined me off beyond belief. I'm a big fan of tfa & tlj and I had high hopes for this one..no matter if you see/hear the spoilers or not, you have to see the context of it all. while I don't think it was a good ending, I think it was an understandable one. I can accept it and live with it. That's literally the only reason I'm giving this an 8 instead of a 10.
I thought the film itself was put together really, really well. visual effects: AMAZING. acting: FLAWLESS. the energy throughout the movie was just intense. I never got bored, and I only grew to love the charcters even more throughout the film. there was a good mix of humor and emotion and action. there were a few 'wtf' moments (the very last scene made me laugh because ..no?) I could sit and nit pick but I don't want to. I want to like it. overall I enjoyed it & I can live with it.
also, every single scene with kylo was amazing. seriously every time he came on the screen my heart started beating faster, he made me feel so much emotion, and I guess it could just be adam driver's acting idk. all I know is, he was epic in this film.
I didn't grow up knowing star wars, I never watched it as a kid. I think I was around 18 when I first watched all the movies & really got into understanding the story. I can't tell you how many times I've watched episodes III & VI. of course the older ones are the reason we all came to cherish this story and these characters. they hold a special place in our hearts. that being said, when the force awakens came out, that was a whole new thing for me. tfa and the last jedi made me fall in love with star wars even more than I already was. these new films are a different experience. people are still holding onto the old era of star wars and you just can't do that when going into movies made 40 years later, with a new story and new characters. star wars fans need to stop hating star wars. we're all here because we love the story- star wars is about the balance between good and evil, the jedi and the sith, the force, and friends, and family. that's what it's always been about and the new films have stuck to that. of course they can't please everybody. you aren't a superior fan because you hate the new movies, or even because you've liked star wars longer. I'm proud to be a fan of the whole skywalker saga.
