Set in a future where the afterlife is monetized, for a price you can upload yourself in your own idealistic version of heaven.
It's worth a watch if you're wanting something easy and fun to get sunk into.
For me there were too many forced attempts at humour and cheesy acting, also why an earth would someone who chooses to upload as their younger self who uses an old photo would then make them black and white!?! With that much new technology, surely this wouldn't be the case.
This is a good concept for a TV series, but it just wasn't executed that well really.
Think of black mirrors 'San Junipero' but without any of the style or substance.
A wonderful look at the gaming industry at it's very early stages, from the golden age of arcade gaming, to home consoles!
The animated story telling is endearing and nicely done, with interesting accounts from all involved!
Seeing some of these reviews claiming that it's pushing a certain agenda are ridiculous, you're looking way too deep into a small yet insightful docuseries, just showing underrepresented people's that had a significant impact on the industry.
It doesn't suprise me that the massive over the top, next level game enthusiasts would nit pick and scrutinize, but as a casual gamer myself I enjoyed this series for what it was! My favourite being the RPG episode! Give it a watch!
A tough watch but a brilliant one at that, fantastic performances throughout and a look at just how corrupt the American justice system is. Moving and very much worth your time.
