I love Iko Uwais on screen, but "Headshot" definitely isn't movie you should meet him in
There's no varied action set pieces, just endless combat ladder with some AK-shooting thrown in, and unlike other movies Iko plays in, the fighting itself looks poor. One scene especially comes to mind; Iko's just moving hands really fast and randomly with no real defensive technique while someone beats his arms to pulp with a retractable baton. Repeat ad nauseam.
Story basically doesn't exist, something about a Chinese man raising bunch of stolen kids on island and training them to be assassins, and one goes "bad", straight out of the plot of Jason Bourne movies.
The amount of open wounds sustained (and forgotten about in next scene), the classic "red powder over face to see damage, because black eye is hard to do" and blood spitting of Indonesian movies is here, and so is overly, overly long "last fight". But nothing really memorable.
If you wanted to see Uko Iwais do amazing work, you meant to watch "Raid 2: Berandal". That's the one where all of this actually works and amazes the viewer with style and variety. Not "Headshot".

"Diablo" is pretty good. First thing you notice is that it's classic filmmaking. The sad moment, the action moment, the expository dialog, etc, with according music and very 1980's feel. It gives everything very retro and classic filmmaking vibe. Modern movies try to act like you're not watching a movie. "Diablo" feels like you're watching someone's ultimate directing work.
A man goes to rescue a girl from mafia boss, but both cross ways with psychotic, absolutely relentless assassin. Chaos ensues.
Whole thing feels like "The Transporter" meets "No Country for Old Men" with a bit of "Terminator" thrown in. The protagonist is somewhat bland, but the main villain one of scariest, most resilient ones out there (which I like a lot). It's delightfully short and keeps moving. Despite being a dumb brawler, I enjoyed this one more than I expected to. Even final act was way better than those type of movies usually do.
Not a bad way to spend 90 minutes.

With rather thrilling concept, thought I give this one a try.
There's one good part. Story keeps moving. Only places you'd want to skip forward on, are tantrums by protagonist's teenage daughter, who somehow bursts into SCI, reads top secret papers and so on.
Everything else... it almost feels like the show tries hard not to show anything thrilling. A bunch of British doctors kidnapped by terrorists, with PM's husband as well? One would assume very capable men to start doing very ungodly things to terrorists until hostages are found. Like Special Air Service or GIGN. Nope, won't happen. British intelligence apparatus doesn't even learn about the incident before it's almost over. There is one such capable individual, but he gets captured rather quick and forgotten about quite soon.
So, the show is more busy making sure every frame looks overly diverse and two female leads criminally incompetent and hysterical, instead of delivering a thriller.
Which makes it a poor soap opera, and not much else.
