Gosh, where to start. I do love this director, but his burn outs outweigh the positives.
This film is in a class of its own. It NOT a psychological thriller. And don't get your hopes up folks because Mr Hartnett is in it.
It's full of pinch me moments, plot holes, omg that's just rubbish etc. Etc.
The saving grace is the music and a pretty good concert set. Saleka is is a good actress and musically talented. Unfortunately shoved into this film.
M has seriously dropped the ball here. The most unbelievable storyline you could imagine.
From wandering about freely in a packed concert to offering a room full of police doughnuts!
This is one of those films where 20 minutes in you're committed to see it through.

If this is a true prequel, why are we not understanding the war, why it happened? Why are there districts. Why is 13 missing? There's nothing to explain the games and why.
What's the point of a prequel if it follows very close to the next series.
Where's the beginning? Not a prequel.
Are we ever going to see the why's? Not at all explained.
We need a proper understanding. Not some cra*p that exactly comes directly before the main movies.

We all know a sequel is never as good as the first. This takes the biscuit.

Slow, predictable and boring. And completely ridiculous.
I wouldn't even class this as a b movie horror. It's not.
Save your money - rewatch the first one.
