Just a terrible remake of The Devil Wears Prada without Meryl Streep and the other great cast members! At first, I wondered how Lily Collins got this gig (remember Anne Hathaway?), then saw her name as a producer,
and later found she is the daughter of singer Phil Collins. Need I say more? The only cast member in this show who is entertaining to watch is Ashley Park, a.k.a. Mindy. Good actress. Others are meh. Show is another meh.
Fantastic cast that delivers the plot so well. From the lead as Beth, to the actor played as her mother Alma and Jolene in the foster home, along with Mr. Shaiber, the man who introduced her to chess - Very impressed with everyone of them. The mini series is entertaining and keeps the audience in awe. Excellent in every aspect. Highly recommend you watch this one. A 10 star rating from me that is well deserved.
I have never said this about any show, but the casting for this show from the leads right down is horrendous. One would expect the main cast to be good enough to carry a show but in this instance, that is not the case. With the exception of a very few like O'Toole, who has polished her craft, most are just not actors one wants to watch because of their lack of delivery - almost like they are not scripted. Reflects poorly on the directors and casting director. Very, very disappointed.
