Overall the movie seems to be pretty good in terms of story and production quality but for some reason they chose to dub it into English even though it appears as though most of the movie is already in English. The voice acting is cheesy and doesn't often match what the actor is actually doing on screen. Would be interesting to see it with its original audio tracks and maybe subtitles for non-english moments.
Watched this with some friends when it came out on video in 1998 or 1999. Sat through the entire thing waiting for something funny to happen and nothing ever did. Nearly every moment was horrible, and not in any good sense. The ending just took something horrible and made it even worse. Nine of us were so mortified and angry about the movie being so bad that we returned it to the video store and complained about it. They very generously let us rent something else at no charge so we got a Disney movie to cleanse our souls. I think the only people who could possibly like this movie, are probably horrible people themselves. If you're not a horrible person, steer clear of this tripe.
