The series is indeed slow, it took me to chapter 5 to start understanding, caring for the characters and getting hooked.
People who rated it low don't get it. The end is very clear. I find it similar to Melancolia (2011). It is meant to be like that.
You are to be in despair, dissapointed and most of all, hopeless. It is meant to leave you completely impotent, with the feeling of powerlessness before impending and unavoidable doom.
The characters are living in complete despair, in world where everyone knows when and how they will die without at ounce of chances to do something about it. One of the most depressing and mind breaking things one can imagine.
You are left like that, they can't do anything about it and we see people doing evil things or trying to get to the end the best they can or completely ignore it.
It is about that, the last months of people through the lenses of a small city leftovers.

Entertaining, and boring at the same time. Knowing a little about what Electric State is, it's nothing more than a bastardization of the works.
For those who don't know, Electric State is a series of dystopian images about the danger of our technological dependence and the abuse of virtual escapism. The images convey a gloomy and hopeless atmosphere, filled with uncomfortable images that lead you to think of a techno-apocalyptic surrealism, turning the world into a real hell through the loss of humanity through robotization and the merging of our minds in virtual escapism to the point people die without knowing it.
The film is nothing more than a crude copy of the scenario, without any of it. Just a predictable, generic, sci-fi action movie with that unbearable silly comedy, lacking originality or sparkle that fills all US productions.
It's good for shutting down your brain; the filmography is mediocre, nothing more than another feast of generic CGI without any originality.

Not a fan of the human animation, the rest of it is spectacular. The fighting scenes are awesome.
Watch it in Japanese, lip sync is made for japanese dialogue. And English voice over is awful.
A solid 8, expected much worse from Netflix, but was very good.
Pure nostalgia and they were faithful to the spirit and message of Gundam, war is terrible, everyone suffers, dehumanizing the other only leads to becoming monsters ourselves, soldiers die for no glory, everyone loses and we all want peace.
It respects the lore, it doesn't add unnecessary dumb stuff for the imaginary "modern audiences".
For that I praise it. Hope there is more incoming.
