While I agree the cast, costumes and cinema photography were great. Someone forgot the hard and true learned lessons of Hollywood. It was apparent when the king went to fight the "Sea Monster" that all the natural opportunities for some comic relief were missed. Including the obvious stuff, where was the air hose for the diving suit?

The story was good, who could ask for a better cast, special effects or camera work?

I'm left blaming the Director and the Editor for a mediocre film that could have been a smash hit with sequels. Let's hope that ship has sailed.

In closing the film is still worth watching, it's just disappointing to me to think how much better a cast and script like this could have been.

I fell a sleep the first time watching. The following morning I decided to try and watch it again, because I really didn't know if I was just board or missing the whole point of the story. Anyway, on the second go-round, I found the plot. It's a touching film, however, one must be open to long drawn out scenes and a payoff that makes one wait.
