Trust is a down-to-earth, Aussie faith-based film that will really hit home. It does a great job of showing the ups and downs of a Christian marriage when trust is broken. I found it a very realistic portrayal of how faith and forgiveness play out in real life, without feeling overly preachy. The characters felt genuine, and I think other Australians watching this will probably agree that this is more what faith looks like in practise for the typical Aussie. It's a heartfelt movie that's not afraid to dig into tough situations while keeping its message of hope and redemption front and centre.
I found this on Amazon Prime when I was looking for a faith-based movie, and was very surprised when I heard Australian accents. I look forward to seeing more from this producer.

I've got zero interest in soccer (football). I've got no idea about the rules. I'd heard of Ronaldo, but I didn't realise there were 3 different people called Ronaldo or Ronaldinho. So why did I find this such a fascinating limited series?
I'm still not really sure. Of course I'd heard of David Beckham, but I really only knew of him as a celebrity. I thought he was possibly a bit dumb. I had no idea he was such a down-to-earth person, which is what came across in this documentary.
I even found myself using ChatGPT to find out and understand how soccer actually worked, who key players were, how the English Premier League was different to the UEFA league, how there were different tiers and how teams could move between tiers
It was an emotional ride through the life of David and his family and I even found myself with watery eyes on a few occasions. I respected David's honesty in answering questions. It's rare to find such openness among public figures today.
I admire his commitment to his family, as well as his honesty about his failures. It was just a refreshing look at someone who has such a high profile.
Anybody could enjoy this documentary, whether you like the sport or not.

As a Christian watching this, it breaks my heart watching the destructive practices of this organisation, and the brainwashing that keeps members from leaving. It's distressing to see how the founders and leaders of the Watchtower Society have distorted the Bible's message so much that it becomes the exact opposite of what Jesus taught
In place of grace and freedom from the law, there are rigid rules which must be obeyed and psychological punishment for those who break those rules.
Instead of salvation through faith alone, there is salvation by works alone.
Instead of love for your neighbour, there is destructive division where families are split apart .
Instead of the unconditional love of God, the JWs most earn God's love.
The JW 'god' is a monster whose demands can never be satiated. The average JW can never be sure they've done enough to please him.
This film highlighted the destructive ideology of the Watchtower Society very well. I'd read a lot of material about JW theology and practice over the years, but the impact of such theology on the lives on average people within the organisation really hits home in this production. Well worth watching.
