I was scrolling through movies and saw this one. I had no idea what was about. It turned into a nice surprise. It's best to go into this movie blind because in the beginning you don't know what the premise is. No jump scares or anything like that. The scenes aren't too gross but enough to make it icky.
I agree with other reviewers, this would have made an amazing series. A weekly series with new locations and different clientele in every episode would have been an interesting.
Movies like this show that with good writing and directing, you don't need a huge budget to make it work. Highly recommend this gem.

I absolutely love the Into the Dark movies. We look forward to them every single month. But what the heck has happened to the writing? It's just been awful as of late. The New Years episode was boring and the Valentine's Day episode was so dumb.
What happened to the ones like "All That We Destroy" or "Pooka" or most of the first season and the beginning of the second season? Those episodes had some truly talented writers and directors. Can Blumhouse, Hulu and anyone else involved just settle down and write some good basic stories? We don't want flash and dazzle, we want Twilight Zone basic dark stories.

I do not understand the many one star ratings. This movie has good production values and excellent actors. Yes, it is a little slow but it's intense.
It kept my interest and I was always trying to anticipate what was going to happen next. Is it horror? I don't know. Horror is so subjective. My personal opinion is that it's more of a family psychological drama. Regardless, it does not deserve this low rating. It isn't a "B" movie. Give it a try
